Free Market Square is a temporary outdoor shopping and live entertainment market centrally located in Houston’s Historic Third Ward.

From the newly renovated Emancipation Park to the newly renamed Emancipation Avenue – Free Market Square is here to add to the vibrancy and energy of strength and empowerment in Third Ward. We invite you to join us during our weekend concerts and vendor markets as we recreate the legacy that once belonged to the area as a thriving Black business district in Houston. Free Market Square is a free and family-friendly event curated in a space that encourages community, economic development, and growth.
