Community Enrichment

For and by our Community

Community Enrichment Initiatives at Project Row Houses are ever evolving. Our residents and neighbors in Historic Third Ward challenge us to expand the vision of our social sculpture. For three decades, Community Enrichment programming has been designed by neighbors and co-created with our residents. Project Row Houses’ community development work evolves; ranging from educational programs to community markets, initiatives to address food insecurity in Third Ward, and behavioral health resources.

Financial, Artistic, Career, and Empowerment Center (FACE)

The Third Ward Financial, Artistic, Career & Empowerment Center (FACE) is a holistic, integrated services delivery approach to community wealth-building. Within FACE we work with resource limited Third Ward jobseekers as they navigate their career search, change courses professionally, or improve their financial literacy knowledge and skills. FACE is best suited for neighbors working to reduce debt, increase savings, secure a full-time position, or explore creative career paths. In FACE, you’ll work with experienced coaches within 1-on-1 financial, creative, and career coaching sessions who will provide counsel for your long-term financial and career goals. Get help creating or managing your budget, finding a job, or or explore creative career paths when you select the Building Blocks of Creative Careers track.

Building Blocks for Creative Careers (BBCC)

The Building Blocks of Creative Careers (BBCC) track specifically caters to emerging artists and creatives in the Third Ward. In addition to accessing the one-on-one financial, career, and public benefits coaching central to the FACE program, participants also receive creative coaching. This allows them to gain support in developing their artistic practice and reaching their creative goals. Through these resources, artists and creatives are empowered to create stability in their personal and professional lives and, if they so choose, developing the skills necessary to becoming self-supported through their artistic practice.

Leadership

SPOTLIGHT: THIRD WARD COMMUNITY LEADERS & CHANGEMAKERS: ASE

In Yoruba culture, Ase gives power and energy to living and nonliving things. Ashe lets people find balance. Those who use their power to create change are called alaase. PRH lifts up and honors the spirit and passion of the many Third Ward changemakers and community leaders who embody the spirit of Ase.

To nominate a Third Ward changemaker,  contact Samantha Joseph at sjoseph@projectrowhouses.org.

Small Business Incubation

Project Row Houses brings individuals together to apply creative solutions for getting things done, often with few resources. We actively work to create opportunities for artists and our neighbors.

PRH’s Incubation Program provides space, time, and/or mentorship for artists and creative entrepreneurs working in the early stages of project development. The incubation program afforded creative entrepreneurs the opportunity of operating within a close-knit community of artists and activists in addition to operating on a neighborhood level with members of the Third Ward community and beyond.
