Third Ward Financial, Artistic, Career, and Empowerment Center
The Third Ward Financial, Artistic, Career, and Empowerment Center (FACE) offers one-on-one coaching to guide your professional and financial journey. Within FACE, you can access four coaching services: (1) financial coaching, (2) career coaching, and (3) income supports coaching. This program is best suited for Third Ward job seekers who would like help advancing their professional skills, securing a more fulfilling career, reducing debt, increasing savings, and managing credit. Building Blocks of Creative Careers
The Building Blocks of Creative Careers (BBCC) includes all the features of the FACE program in addition to 1-on-1 creative coaching, engaging field trips to art-based institutions, and mentoring opportunities with accomplished professionals in creative careers. Behavioral Health
Develop important coping skills through our Behavioral Health series; click here to register for virtual workshops offered biweekly at 6pm on select Wednesdays. All sessions are facilitated by PRH’s Behavioral Health Case Manager, Lauren Hickland. Available workshops include Overcoming Childhood Trauma, Mindfulness & Self-Care, Understanding Triggers, Building Conflict Resolution Skills, Developing Your Identity, Grief & Loss, Dealing with Burnout, Addressing Anxiety, Trauma and the Body, Effective Goal Setting, and Navigating Mental Health Resources.
PRH also hosts monthly Art Therapy sessions on site at 2506 Holman, facilitated by Art Therapy Houston. These sessions are free and all supplies are provided, but RSVPS are required. Click here to register for Art Therapy the second Friday of every month.
Financial Literacy
Gain a greater understanding of how finances impact your life, and how to navigate them, with PRH’s Financial Literacy workshops. These workshops cover everything from investing to budgeting, home buying, and more. Click here for workshops in our financial literacy series, hosted by PRH’s Financial Coach Steven Carter. Workshops are offered virtually on select Tuesday evenings each month.
DIGITAL LITERACY
Access technology and develop basic digital literacy skills like navigating the internet, using different software programs, completing job applications, or setting up email. Business Skills for Artists & Creatives
Business skills are not just for business owners! Attend any or all of these interactive workshops to grow your creative practices and achieve your artistic goals. Offerings include Intro to Grants, Basics of Customer Engagement, Basics of Promotion, Basics of Pricing Your Work, Basics of Record-keeping, Basics of Branding, Basics of Writing an Artist Statement and Bio, Building a Portfolio Kit, Basics of Marketing, Business Plan Essentials, Contract Writing and Negotiations, and Creative Business Model Canvas, all designed with artists and creatives in mind! About the Young Mothers Residential Program
Through this program, Project Row Houses provides a solid safety net for young single mothers striving to build a better life for themselves and for their children. This is just one of the many ways in which we uplift our community through long-term investment and commitment to individuals and groups. The purpose of YMRP is to empower young single mothers and their children in achieving independent, self-sufficient lives. YMRP has supported roughly 100 mothers and their families, some of whom have gone on to earn doctorates, law degrees and become community leaders and entrepreneurs. Through this program, PRH provides a culturally rich environment in which residents develop healthy, holistic living practices and cultivate a sense of positive energy and self-worth that will guide them in becoming empowered, self-confident, nurturing women, mothers, daughters, companions, and employees.
