Calling all spoken word poets! Smoke Slam will be hosting 3 poetry performance workshops for artists and creatives in Third Ward. Each workshop will consist of poetry writing, poetry performance, and immediate feedback from award winning poets. We are excited to see you perform as we witness. See workshops below:

Wednesday, May 3rd – led by R.J. Wright from 4pm-6pm

Tuesday, May 18th – led by Sherrika Mitchell from 4pm-6pm

Wednesday, May 24th – led by Blacqwildflowr from 1pm-3 pm

Smoke Slam is a Houston-based competitive poetry team consisting of LeChell “The Shootah” R.H, Sherrika Mitchell, Blacqwildflowr, RJ Wright and Aris Kian. Between them, Smoke Slam holds 17 individual national titles, 5 respective team titles, one coaching title and is coached under the legendary Ebony Stewart.
