A Letter From Our Executive Director
Hooray for May on the Row!
This is your last month to catch Artist Round 60: Rooted in Perception. If you’ve never experienced a Round at PRH, I urge you to visit to see the exceptional work of these artists who are using the photographic image to explore personal and community history. With our phones in hand, we’ve all become amateur photographers—you might just get inspired to up your game.
The Round will close the last weekend of the month, the day after our Social Sculpture Saturday on May 30th from 12 to 4. It’s a great time to check out the Round and meet some new people who share your passion for Project Row Houses.
In addition to that day’s art, activities, and collaborations of Social Sculpture Saturday, we’ll be hosting an Art Supply & Spray Paint Drive. Scroll down for the list of supplies that will help us make sure the young Third Ward artists enrolled in our summer programs can explore the full range of creative expression.
While art supplies must be new and unopened, you can also drop off new OR used spray paint in any color that we’ll put to use at the Public Art Park. Yes, we do want that half-used can you used to paint your patio table, and we’ll take new cans, too.
Finally – it’s here – the call for entries to Southern Survey Biennial III opens on May 1. The Biennial is a survey of recent works created by contemporary visual artists living and working in the South, and one artist will receive a $25,000 prize selected by a guest juror.
Plenty of reasons to visit PRH this month!
