Though creative resistance is nothing new, contemporary artists and activists have built upon the longstanding legacy of cultural organizing and social movement. From the local threat of gentrification reshaping the social and physical landscape of Third Ward to the uprising of the Black Lives Matter Movement, this decade brought an increased focus and awareness to reclaim our humanity and celebrate our work as artists and community.
