About Creative Careers
General Information
The Creative Careers Program specifically caters to emerging artists and creatives in the Third Ward. This allows them to gain support in developing their artistic practice and reaching their creative goals. Through these resources, artists and creatives are empowered to create stability in their personal and professional lives and, if they choose, develop the skills necessary to becoming self-supported through their artistic practice.

- Artist Mentorship Program pairing experienced art professionals with emerging artists, culminating in a creative showcase at PRH

Artist Mentorship Program
The most radical way to impact the social sculpture is to work as a community, combining the power of individuals into something greater that transforms the world. Mentorship fulfills that need for community, sharing knowledge and skills between established and emerging artists to create a richer art scene in Houston. Mentorship puts the theories of the Creative Careers program into action.
The Artist Mentorship Program is available to emerging artists in the Creative Careers program, giving them the chance to work with an established local artist during a structured 6-month program. Creative Careers program participants are paired with a mentor who shares their experience, resources, and offers guidance to their mentees in developing their practice.
During their time together, mentors provide mentees with a formal critique of their work, set goals and a plan to implement them, and attend networking events together. At the conclusion of each 6-month cohort, mentor/mentee pairs collaborate to develop a work to display during the Artist Mentorship Showcase in the Community Gallery at PRH.
