On View: Art Houses
October 3 – February 14
Project Row Houses (PRH) is proud to present the third iteration of our Southern Survey Biennial: a survey of recent works created by contemporary visual artists living and working in “The South.” Artists based in the southern region of the United States are encouraged to apply for an installation in one of PRH’s seven art houses located on Holman St.
This opportunity aims to highlight the collective creativity of southerners while providing more viable opportunities specific to the Southern region, specifically residents of Alabama, Arkansas, Florida, Georgia, Kentucky, Louisiana, Mississippi, North Carolina, Oklahoma, South Carolina, Tennessee, Texas, and Virginia. Selected installations will receive a $5,000 stipend that can be used towards materials, artist fee(s), and creative labor. One artist will receive a prize in the amount of $25,000, that will be selected by guest juror Jessica S. Hong, Chief Curator at the Kemper Museum of Contemporary Art in Kansas City, Missouri. Project Row Houses will cover travel and lodging throughout the week of the installation period leading up to the opening reception and community market on Saturday, October 3.
