Richards says that the program is vital to women’s success because it “provides a safety net where women and children can find support, find resources, and feel valued. Society often casts off young single mothers as burdens on society and believes that they are destined for a life of one failure after another. We don’t hold such beliefs here at Project Row Houses. Just because a women has a child at a young age does not mean that she is doomed for the rest of her life. We make a lifetime investment in the women who go through our Young Mothers Program and support them long after they have left our program.”
