Led by T.E.J.A.S.
(Texas Environmental Justice Advocacy Services)
The industrial megaplex that begins on the east side of Houston and continues uninterrupted to the Gulf of Mexico, 50 miles away, is the largest concentration of petroleum refineries, petrochemical companies, and storage structures on Earth.
Pictures cannot easily convey the surreal site of this massive industrial complex, nor the thick polluted air. Join T.E.J.A.S. on a Toxic Tour through the East End of Houston, where roughly 30 refineries and chemical plants surround neighborhoods and spew toxins into the air. Thousands of people live, work, and attend schools in the shadow of these facilities.
Toxic Tours are led on the first Saturday of each month of Round 44.
