Sunshine and Sun Prints

Saturday, April 27, 2019
11:00 a.m.-3:00 p.m.

Project Row Houses Courtyard
2521 Holman Street
Houston, TX 77004

Join Project Row Houses and Leticia Contreras to create your own cyanotypes (also known as sun prints) from a photographic process that produces cyan-blue prints when objects are placed in the sun. To get inspiration for your cyanotypes, explore the current exhibition Round 49: penumbras: sacred geometries, and discover how artists Yanira Collado, Leticia Contreras, and Juana Valdez produce cyanotypes in various ways. Then, work with your family or friends to select objects, design a composition, and watch your art reveal itself, as the action of light creates a silhouette effect on your paper or fabric.

NOTE: Please allow 25 minutes to complete this activity. The activity will take place outdoors and is on a first-come, first-served basis, while supplies last. All ages and experiences are welcome to come anytime between 11 AM and 3 PM. Materials are provided.
