Eldorado Dedication Weekend
Eldorado Dedication ConcertFriday, May 2, 2014, 8:00 p.m Eldorado Ballroom, 2310 Elgin St.
The Eldorado Ballroom Dedication and Concerts event celebrates the great history of music and dancing at the historic Eldorado Ballroom, where many of the great African-American musicians performed from the 1940’s to the 1970’s. It was also the home of “happy feet”, where a packed dance floor was the norm. This two-day event kicks off with a ticketed concert, “LIVE at the Eldorado with Milton Hopkins and Jewel Brown” on Friday evening, May 2nd. The celebration continues the next day with a dedication ceremony to unveil the Texas Historic Marker of the 1939 Eldorado building, and a FREE concert, Third Ward Community Market, and SLAB cars in Dupree Park on May 3rd. Spend the weekend with us as we celebrate the wonderful music and dancing of the Eldorado Ballroom and its designation as a Texas Historical landmark!
