Join in a dialogue about poverty in Houston with Occupy Houston, Good Jobs Greater Houston and members of the Third Ward community. Dinner will be served as part of the program.
Sidewalk Talks are a neighborhood conversation series taking place in front of the Communograph House twice a month, organized by the collaborating artists of the Communograph project and members of the surrounding community during Round 35.
The collaborating artists of the Communograph project include: Regina Agu, Lisa Harris, Journey Allen, Michael Khalil Taylor, Rebecca Novak, and Ifeanyi “Res” Okoro II;each of whom helped to author the exhibition in the The Communograph House, a research-based exhibition that includes each of their artworks. The Sidewalk Talks serve as a way to extend each artist’s research out onto the streets of the community, giving a platform to issues of critical importance to the Third Ward
Communograph is a multi-platform art project, conceived and initiated by Ashley Hunt and organized in collaboration with residents of Houston’s Third Ward community, Project Row Houses, the Cynthia Woods Mitchell Center for the Arts, and students and faculty of the University of Houston’s School of Art.
